And his son, missing half his head, dead from the gunshot in to the cave. He throws the pearl in to the sea where it is swallowed by the sand in the depths.

Aims the gun in to the cave and shoots, kino leaps in to action and grabs the gun, he kills all three men.

The story returns to the village, kino and juana return to the village, they go to the beach and kino looks at the pearl, in its surface he used to see his wedding day in new clothes, his rifle, his son learning, he now sees the destruction of his home and boat, the people he has killed to protect himself

Before long so he takes juana and their son in to the mountainous area. In the mountains he finds a cave and they hide there, the trackers come and kino tells juana to keep the baby quiet. The trackers stay by the cave for the night, kino thinks he can make it to the lead tracker with a gun and kill them, while creeping along in the moonlight his son cries softly; the tracker awakes thinking it may be a baby bobcat

Also, it was his fathers and his grandfathers before his, a boat is more personal than a house as it’s how they survive. He planned on boating to the city to sell the pearl but now he and juana and their son must leave on foot. They go.
Not long after they leave kino realises trackers are following them to find them, no doubt for the pearl. They miss them, but kino knows they will turn back and find their path

They distrust their neighbours. Kino is attacked regularly to steal the Pearl. She wants it gone. Kino catches her and beats her, he makes the return home when he is jumped by an assailant. He kills the man in self defence. Juana finds the Pearl and they return to their hut it is on fire, they hide out at kinos brothers place while the neighbours talk of the missing family and the Pearl. Kinos boat has been damaged

The original dealer offers 1500. Kino feeling like they’re trying to gaslight him in to thinking the pearl is worth nothing, said he will go to the city tomorrow to see if they agree it is of low/no value.

That night there is more drama for the pearl. In the early morning hours juana takes the pearl and goes to the beach to throw it back. She thinks the pearl is evil and has brought them nothing but bad luck.

And letters and be wise and respected. Kino moves the pearls hiding place and goes to bed, in the night someone digs up the old hiding spot. Kino the next day heads to town to sell the pearl to the Pearl merchants, the whole village goes with him to spectate, one tells him the Pearl is too big and will only sell as an oddity at a low price of 1000, the next said he will not buy it and another said 600.

Kino said it’s hidden and his eyes betray the spot on the floor where. He plans to sell it tomorrow for a small fortune. The villagers at first are happy for kino finding such a huge pearl, surely he will be wealthy soon. They start imagining what they would do with the wealth. Some are jealous. Kino wants to marry juana in new clothes, and buy a new harpoon, a rifle! Send his son to school so he will know words

I read this in a day cause it’s short so basically

Kinos son is stung by a scorpion and they take him to the doctor who refuses to see them because they can’t pay him what he wants to be paid. Kinos wife juana puts some seaweed over the sting to draw out the remaining poison she didn’t manage to suck out. Kino finds a huge pearl, news of the pearl spreads through the village and town.
