"“An eternal bond, shared by two Wolves, created by the Moon Goddess, written about in love tomes—that would be upsetting to Callum.
You already know.
Nausea rises within. I remember what Callum told me when I first arrived at Madadh-allaidh.
It’s a wolf thing. Rare, but powerful. Stronger, even, than love. Two souls chosen by the Moon Goddess. . .
I know what the bond is.””

Dang, Callum has had two women encounter and/or be taken by Anam-Cridech.

"The old cook here at Lowfell used to pen them."

Why didn’t she think of asking around?

Mrs. McDonald was probably writing about her own love story! Go talk to her!

““What is the Anam-Cridech?” I say.
He halts. The muscles in his back shudder. His hand flexes at his side. My stomach lurches at his reaction. Blake was right. Callum knows what it is.””

I had wondered why Callum didn’t have any of his men search for the information but now I understand. He is perfectly aware that two wolves that are mated together for life have a bond cannot be unbroken.

Callum, count your days!

"You already know.”
I shake my head. “I do not.”
“You do. A part of you knows. A part of you has always known. Just like, deep down, Callum knows. Just like I have always known.”"

Omg! The Moon Goddess declared them mated for life! 🎊

"He rubs his face with both hands. “You already haunt me, Aurora.”"

She’s very insufferable.... those are his pages and they’re in his room. What is she talking about, “Those pages are mine?"

Now that I think about it, now that Callum is king, he could’ve had Blake’s chambers searched for information on how to break the bond. But he has Aurora doing all of this hard work herself.

"“That means he must have been somewhere in the King’s City—perhaps even the palace itself—being torn apart, while I was attending dancing lessons, or preening in front of the mirror. My own naivety rises up in my throat on a wave of nausea. How could I have been so clueless as to what was happening?”"

Because you’re selfish and self-centered perhaps?
