I always find it baffling when I read any kind of fantasy and the women are second class citizens. You are MAKING UP this world and we couldn't over come misogyny? I get that sometimes it has plot reasons but I'm just not feeling very girl boss about this.
If a fantasy writer is going to write about some kind of gendered/racial based inequality please have the nuance in your writing to explore these topics.
