This is one of the most effective uses of perspective switches that I have ever seen. It's short chapters so a lot of the perspectives overlap and every observation works both ways. It establishes the narrator's world view and then reframes character descriptions from the previous narrator. So, Darl views Jewel in a detached way, then we get Jewel's internal world, and then Cora wrongfully judges both. I love it.
