Does it not strike you as odd, Liebchen, that in laying out His ten commandments God wasted three of them in declaring His own majesty? I am your Lord, accept no others, worship no idols. He sounds less like an all-powerful maker and more like a dog pissing on every tree to claim it as his.
An amazing argument… thank you for this Carey.

I’m very busy so this book is suffering from not getting enough attention. But I do think it’s slightly less compelling than the usual Carey read.

A bit disjointed as POVs change, but still good.

An odd time jump to tell some backstory but easy to follow so all good.

As always Carey grabs my attention super early!!

Well that is a bleak start… I should know better. Carey is an amazing writer but he does love to break my heart in the most non-romantic ways.

I’m not super familiar with this OG fairy tale. So I’m gonna let Carey do what she does best and take me on a ride without worrying about anything but her amazing writing. :)
