I can’t remember what Delamare wants with Lyra but blaming a child for his scheming adult sisters disappearance is deranged.

Malcolm correctly stating his attraction to Lyra is morally wrong and other characters disagreeing to push him towards her is INFURIATING! It is wrong and gross and creepy and all these adults involved are just as wrong and creepy.

Feels like going from “Lyra’s missing” to “Pan must have run off and she’s gone to find him” is jumping to conclusions a bit from Asta’s pov. There is literally nothing to make them think that other than the author knows that’s what happened.

“But four years later, was it still so wrong to think about it?”

YES IT FUCKING IS YOU CREEPY WEIRDO! Gross gross gross. I will never forgive Pullman for this creepy plotline.

Likening lovely Will to creepy Malcolm is insulting. Get the fuck out of here.

I miss guttersnipe Lyra, this Lyra is boring. Pan is right, she’s changed.

Malcolm’s crush gets more gross upon rereading because it’s so clear he really creeped Lyra out. She’s spent like 50 pages going out of her way to avoid talking to him even though he has the info she needs.

Seriously? Her period is reassuring? Pullman I beg you, stop.

This is some real #menwritingwomen shit. No woman is nearly getting gang raped then happily sleeping in the same compartment as another strange man a few minutes later.

And was this whole scene even necessary? It reeks of fridging. If this is somehow relayed to Malcolm and he goes all vigilante I will burn this book I swear.

Malcolm you are a GROWN FUCKING MAN! Stop telling people you are in love with your fresh out of her teens former student! One you have known since she was a baby!

Seriously Pullman, it wasn’t cute when Meyer did it and it’s not cute now! Stop pairing grown men with children and thinking it’s fine!
