And just like so many tragedies, the base of it is someone Not Connecting The Dots. It feels so Greek, the way Coriolanus' hubris destroys *everyone* for such a long time.

Looked up the actual Lucy Gray poem to compare and I love that the first two changes to the original words are to make the poem more geographically accurate to District 12, which we know is in the Appalachian range of the US, and to prevent the Covey from singing a slur at full volume on stage--

Heinlein vaguely gestures at genetic testing and mutation so that Collins makes it DEEPLY relevant to every HG installment with one hand while eating Heinlein's lunch with the other.

No I will never let Heinlein be now, I Want My 10 Hours Back, Heinlein.

Coriolanus continues to be surrounded by people who are much too kind for his nonsense.

I haven't seen the film since it was in theatres but I will give it props that it changed "The Old Therebefore" to be the finale of the games, instead of a spike in adrenaline *near* the end.

The agony of watching it take just a bit too long for Coriolanus to figure out what the hell Dr. Gaul is planning with the snakes like she didn't all but say to his face what she's about to do--
