oh they’re 60s kids.

but anyways no harriet really didn’t learn much of a lesson. like a very little lesson. but she’s still writing down nasty observations lol. her future is prob a tabloid writer rather than a novel writer frankly.

omg please tell me this book doesn’t end without the kid learning a damn lesson

srsly though mom and dad you two are not helping with her horrible socialization lol. you really need to train nastiness out of kids or other kids will do it for you….

while the kids read as very authentically kids… it makes me wonder if kids in the 70s were that much more kid like back then? because in my lifetime and experience grade 6 kids were less on the kids side and more on the preteens side starting in/out-group stuff and psychological warfare on each other.

i wonder what kids from different socioeconomic statuses think of this book and of these out of touch rich white people characters. do they get it? or is it completely foreign to them?
