Idalis’s Reviews > We Will Be Jaguars: A Memoir of My People > Status Update

I want to say religion is the true evil here, but it's not. It's the search for Power and the abuse of Power that I find most cruel so far. Spirituality and a sense of self are demonized, setting a white precedent for superiority; the diminishing of self-confidence in your identity is shaken. It's so sad.

The storytelling is so beautiful and well-written that I keep forgetting this is a memoir!
