Maomao gets a different room supposedly as punishment but ends up actually being preferable to her. Apparently she got mistaken for Shisui in rumors and was being punished for it. Maomao goes to investigate to confirm her thoughts and it's true but then they see the Empress. After returning back the Empress also visited the Jade Pavilion.

They kept the sick lady in a shed isolated from everyone else in the Crystal Palace and purposely left her to rot in order to disguise the banned perfumes with the smell of death which Maomao caught. The criminal in question was Lihua's cousin. Wild. Lihua's cousin crashes out and gets slapped by Lihua. Damn.

Maomao gets summoned back to the clinic. Apparently one of Lihua's maids was sick and she disappeared before she could receive treatment and one of the ladies was very concerned. Maomao basically was asked to help them out. Maomao also got a lizards tail in home she can find a remedy to regrow limbs and potentially life.
