That last one (The Street of the First Shell) was a little out of the norm, in that it wasn't so unusual, haha. The Street shorts are pretty good though. The dreamy fades between home and horror are very well done. It does seem like it's almost cliche at times, because it's just so exemplary. A symptom of foundational texts I think I'll probably wrap this up no. I was going to push it out another year, but it's time.

I might not finish this book for a couple years. The stories are pretty similar but also fairly insular, and remarkably memorable. It's been years now, I believe, since I started this book and the stories are still deeply unsettling. I don't have a lot of thirst for this stuff, but it certainly sets the spooky vibe for October. Some stories are better than others, for sure. Each one is good, albeit a bit disturbing.
