My oh my what a difference a few pages can make in a John Irving book. Slower start then the other books I have read by him, but Christ alive can this man write. Looking forward to the rest now!

I love John Irving’s books, but I have tried reading this one 3 times before this. Still don’t like it so far. Just a rather boring account of this town and a kid that lives there. Will push through as my dad says it’s one of his favourites but man, might be a slog.
