He watches as his sensie dies and finally gets into the fight. His opponent carries no weapon but instead uses thunderclaps of wind. He is strong but not very mobile. Momuro feints and dodges using ice to freeze his opponent’s feet before ending it. He flees to his sensie as his father and uncle form a giant dragon made of ice. It’s pretty gnarly. The head niches but the scales spin and cut. It wreaks havoc

Heavy contrast to WOT that would just say stuff like “Rand used threading needle but was countered by jumping rabbit”

The ground troops retreat and leave room for the stronger enemy fighters. These in contrast to there weaker counterparts yellow are all dressed in black. M still stands and watches sending weak supporting ice here and there. The enemy have a wide variety of styles. Fast, agile, slow and strong

I am never going to remembers these peoples names. They are too foreign and similar to each other for me to pick them out. Anywho….

Mamoru is stunned by the bloodshed and the skill of his elders. He watches frozen as they tear through dozens of men each. There are a lot of cool moments here involving swords and ice and wind that were super well written.

As the rangers ground troops advance up the mountain side the kiagense men hold firm though there numbers are terrible. The uncle crates a field
Of ice shards that takes out a bunch and the rest of the troop shoots ice spears at individual combatants. As the rangers get closer there wind power becomes more devastating. Mamorus sensie forms an ice wall that can divert the winds and they switch to sword forms.

The letter arrived to late. The ranganese are here. They can control the wind and quickly form a tornado that destroys the fishing village as well as others on the march up the mountain.

Here we get a SICK ass fight seen that lasts about 30 pages.

The father mediates and is able to kill the three forming the tornado in unison by spearing there hearts with a splinter of ice. Now it’s man to man

Instead of trying to convince him further she sends a need of ice up his vein and into a pressure point that disables his arm. She covers his door with ice then runs to gather her children. She plans to head to the fishing village with her sisters family but as she is gathering her kids the door to her husbands study breaks down. He pins her to the ground and is about to to become violent when they here a gong

Later the father comes home with a letter that is still sealed. Makasi is surprised as this is the first time he did not read her mail. Inside was a letter from her old roommate whose country they are at war with telling them to run now. There will soon be an attack. She reads the letter to her husband who writes it off as a manipulation. She pleads with him before realizing his sense of honnor is too strong

Mamoru has plenty of skill, speed and training but she feels she can teach him a thing or two. At first he is hesitant that he will hurt his mother but she quickly dissolutions him of that idea. She is slower than she once was but ever the tricker she gets a couple good hits in that he was not expecting and points out issues in his form. When his father returns he gives Mamoru the first positive feedback of his life

Mamoru is taken to the dojo with his father. The senior matsadu is angry that his son would dare speak out against the empire. In his angry he strike M harder than he normally would calling out the moments of inprecision as “SLOPPY”. He leaves him bruised telling him to keep practicing until he returns. Mikasi watched this whole time holding back from revealing herself and her training.
