Also, it’s been YEARS since I’ve read them last, so I honestly don’t remember why I hate him, lol. I m reading them to my sister, so well see if I think different!!

Fitz never left her side, even if he was angry at her. He was always there. Keefe wasn't. He left when things got too hard

Also he makes so many promises and legit breaks every single one of them

why do we also always label people toxic for having difficult emotions and don't always say the right thing????

we all want deep, flawed, complex characters but the moment we get them we hate them. no wonder authors keep writing shallow, perfect characters bc us readers can't handle someone who isn't perfect

i respectfully disagree, I wouldnt call fitz toxic, but at least to me, he's not quite bf material yet

yeah honestly! Fitz is a complex character, and I think that was Shannon's intention. I mean, some of Fitz's reactions are valid. Like, the matchmaking thing was his whole life, of course he's going to be upset about Sophie being unmatachable. They took a reasonable break from each other, but he admitted he still wanted to be with her whenever she was ready. He has family issues just like Keefe, but with the world's eyes on him as it happens. I feel like a lot of people praise Biana for becoming confident with her scars despite the public, but don't realize it's just taking a bit longer for Fitz. He also always could count on Sophie, but then she ran and kissed Keefe the second he got back after abandoning her under the guise of keeping her safe (which was, in my not so humble opinion, very selfish). Not to mention Fitz is very respectful of what Sophie wants, while Keefe is not. When Fitz found out about Sokeefe, he didn't freak out, even though it was another thing imploding in his life. He immediately backed off. I also think Keefe is weirdly obsessed with Sophie, and I can see him getting possessive over her especially after everything that happened in Stellarlune.
