Maria’s Reviews > Worlds of Exile and Illusion: Rocannon's World / Planet of Exile / City of Illusions > Status Update

It always takes me so long to read these 100 page books by Le Guin, but whatever! "Planet of Exile" is fine, I can see the theme of "we are different but there is love born out of that difference" which she explores again in "The Left Hand of Darkness".
However, "Humans" and "farborns" seem too similar to be different species (which might be the point) and the plot is kind of a slog.

Finished Rocannon's World... Wooooooooow!!! The way Le Guin combines high fantasy with sci-fi in this one is amazing. It's like seeing future echoes of what's to come in "The Left Hand of Darkness" and the Earthsea series.
