Story #6 - Eight Bites
A powerful story for anyone with major body dysmorphia. I personally don’t relate as easily, but I’m finding many of these stories are for women unlike me. And that’s okay.

Story #8 - Difficult at Parties
This is a strange story to end on. It feels too sad and melancholy. I’d have picked the one before, The Resident, as at least it had some hope in it. Not sure I liked this one as much, but that may only be because it’s creep factor was high even though nothing truly scary happens on the page.

Story #7 - The Resident
Here is a story I relate to quite heavily. While I’m not a lesbian, I am bisexual, and I too remember the awkward moment I realized that maybe other girls wouldn’t be comfortable knowing I shared a tent with them and thought them pretty in ‘that way’.
I was also stranded on a mountain side as a child with my Scout troop. Intriguing…

Story #5 - Real Women Have Bodies
Best story yet, by far. Women just vanishing into thin air… or at least mostly vanishing. Love the idea here that many women feel brushed aside by society to the point that we forget they even exist. As a geeky gal I often feel the world forgets that girls can collect comics and books that aren’t just Eat, Pray, Love or Sex & the City-esque.

Story #4 - Especially Heinous
This is a clever little format. No narrative or prose at all. You simply read the mini synopsis of episodes that eventually put together a story as the narrative is told in sequential (mostly) order.

Story #3 - Mothers
I’m missing something here… having trouble sorting out what exactly has happened in this one. Maybe you have to be in a pregnant haze, or have experienced one(?) which I have not, in order to understand? 😉

Story #1 - The Husband Stitch. These weird ribbon stories and I just don’t get one another. Maybe I am a weird person who has no secrets from her husband?
Story #2 - Inventory. This one is incredible. Written in small snippets of interactions. I love the writer is bisexual and clearly loves men and women equally (like me). The twisty end is creepy as it was written so long before the real pandemic…

Been on the print TBR for eternity… seems like time to finally knock it off.
