This seems like a book written just to describe how bad life would be if aliens arrived. No hope of survival. So interesting. Also it is obviously written in the 1800s as the language is so much more poetic then we speak now. I can see why people read it in high school you learn a lot of vocabulary used in different ways to describe something in a way we would not do now.
