Why is this book such a slog? Is it because it is totally not the self-help book that I was expecting (or that it appears to have been marketed as)?

Where in Earth has this book disappeared to??! I've been looking for it for almost two months. I guess this falls under "You know you have too many books when..." although, there is no such thing as 'too many books'. So I am just going to assume this book is angry at me, and is hiding because it doesn't want to be read right now. >:(
