Finally starts picking up round pg 130 with the introduction of a tom boy. If it hadn't been a book group pick, I would never have waited around that long. This new character adds life to an otherwise boring story.

Nice offhand introduction of a gay couple without giving it great emphasis, unlike this comment. Because of the dominating action I didn't originally pick up that the neighbors were a same gender couple. Unfortunately, action descriptions dominate the narration to the detriment of any internal dialogue, and comes across a bit lifeless at times.
