Just discovered Strand bookstore in NYC. 18 miles of books but only one tiny suitcase to fill up. I want to live here.

Buy the books. Jettison everything else from the suitcase. Isn't that the logical approach?

I stopped in there a few weeks ago and found a complete set of Rising Up and Rising Down in excellent condition. That third floor is full of great stuff like that.
Isn't there any way to have them shipped to your home?
Why not treat yourself on a second suitcase and go ahead, Matthias :)?
This is when you open your own quaint bookstore and read the books before you sell them.
I've had that experience! :) I used to take a mostly empty backpack to NYC and The Strand.
Well, another idea is to buy books and ship them home, that is, if the p.o. still has a book rate. 18 miles. oh, my. I miss having a book store. they don't last here. we have a used book store at the library, but you don't always find good books there. so I have been a long time amazon customer since moving here.
Not sure of the cost, but there are flat-rate boxes you can get from the Post Office and mail internationally. I think up to 20 lbs.
