Really liking the interaction with Votrex after the Dance of the Sword Master. It feels like a good character progression for both of them. There are some little anomalies between what she says and what is revealed in the forthcoming prequel, but I think it's pretty clear by now that Vashni is rarely if ever completely truthful about things. Broadly speaking she's honest, just not perhaps about certain details. Fits.

Ooh! I'm on to the grand finale! I DO like the big event at the end of this book. Plus I'm not seeing much that needs a fix in this area!

Ooh, the rescue! That was a great bit. Couple of tiny tweaks needed here and there, but it reads well. Getting ready for the big finale now! One thing I DO like in this book are the interactions between Vashni and Votrex. They've gone from being quite hostile in book one to having quite a satisfying friendship. I think I'll need to do at least one more version of this. Though there's not a lot wrong with the current

Well, the 'Shadows in the Night' chapter needs a tweak or two. I haven't checked if the fixes are needed in the latest, latest e-version, but I fear they might. I think I'm going to have to update to version 3.0 for Kindle and Paperback versions, even though broadly speaking I think this book reads well.

The conversation on the walls and the feast seem to work well. I'm pleased with the reveal about the Empress at the feast. She's an interesting character. Also thankfully, no issues to fix! Hopefully this will be a really easy book to sort out.

Up to the Dance of the Sword Master. I'm pleased with it, there were a couple of tiny tweaks I spotted. I probably wouldn't bother, but if I'm fixing the rogue 'the' I might put some other tiny tweaks in too.

Still not spotted anything worth changing... Except that bloody rogue 'the' on page 48! :( Is it worth all the work re-working all editions for a single rogue 'the'? I don' t know... I DO know, I love that initial encounter with Burgess in Sordia's. It's a great scene. He's a great character! And yes, in case you were wondering Burgess WILL return, I have plans for him! ;)

Aaaargh! I found a rogue 'the' in the version 1.2 I'm reading. I checked the latest version 1.4 and yes, sadly the rogue 'the' is still there. :(

I was really hoping this one wouldn't need a fix. Sorting my paperbacks out is going to be a PAIN. However... Maybe once I've updated them and ordered the latest, I could do a giveaway of the old versions? Maybe even a signed copy give away? Would anyone be interested?

Yes! I am happy! I was lying in bed reading last night and punching the air shouting, YES! Why? The major cock-up I thought I'd made? Well it just turns out I DIDN'T make it! Saul DOES explain to Elden Roth that they are on their way to acquire steeds, so Elden's offering to take them to Sharrock's to 'ensure they acquire the finest steeds' makes sense! That is definitely a relief! So far, version 1.2 is looking good

This book flows really well, I really like the slow-paced opening. However I appear to have dropped a MAJOR clanger. :(

It seems unless my over-tired eyes were mistaking me, I made Elden Roth unnervingly psychic! I was hoping this book would NOT need a fix. It appears I MAY be mistaken! :(

Done! Vashni hasn't competed in the bowl for 300 years, Roth has been watching the Blood Trial off and on for 200 years… Right! Just need to speak to my editor about book 4 'Rise of the Archmage'!
