I wish someone had given me this book years ago. I now know why Faulkner is considered a fantastic author. I am only 1/2 through, but loving The Hamlet. I love Faulkner's manner of telling a story - he makes a short story long with his round about style and descriptions making the readerthink back to the beginning of that story to remember, "oh, yeah, that is where we are going."

I am not sure why I decided to read Faulkner's The Hamlet. I know I got it from Audible about the time I went to Oxford for Booktopia in 2014(?). But I decided to read As I Lay Dying for that trip. I could not figure Faulkner out and gave up after getting about 1/2 way through and needing cliff notes to understand what I read.
I am loving the story of the Snopes and Warners. And LOVE Joe Barrett as the narrator.
