PSA: this is a place to discuss books you've read and your thoughts on them, to exchange ideas and recommendations with similarly-minded friends. This is not 4chan. This is not a place for you to do your mating dance and fluff your feathers. Do not try to make it one.

That's the most recent issue, yeah, but this status is a result of that and another situation as well. In the past I've received very uncomfortable messages from another individual who I will not name but who has also been blocked (e.g. angry harassment-type PMs) that made it clear he was on this website for reasons other than books (all his GR friends were women with pictures). It's just so frustrating to find the most (generally) comfortable and civil of social media websites have those issues too.

Ugh thank you. I had an issue like this with someone. Definitely nely blocked. Literally having a conversation about books and then he goes straight to being a horndog. No thank you

There was a guy "who let me have it" because I wouldn't accept his friend request and found it creepy that he went and liked the old profile pics I had (so much so, I deleted them). He was making fun of me until I told him that I wasn't here to make friends or hook up. I blocked him too.
goodreads for dating? weird. its like going to the dentist to find a mechanic. lolwell, i'm glad i treat all my friends of all genders with respect and kindness. i came here for books conversation, book suggestions and book reviews. if i want to find a date.. there are easily so many other sites for that. :/
