This book has my least favorite NA tropes (apart from abusive partners and lack of diversity, we are not talking about them, these two are deal breaker)

It's a good book but my personal distaste makes it all rather annoying.

I like the book well enough, Max and Grady are lovely. However, some of the elements I've mentioned before and new additions makes me a bit anxious so I'm not enjoying this book as much as before.
Specifically I'm not a fan of Justin. He's shady. While Theo is straight up emotionally abusive asshole, I can't figure Justin out.

The book has two of my most disliked tropes - controlling uncaring parent and forced engagement. I like the book anyways so far but these two tropes dump my enjoyment.
The only segues I didn't mind it is 5b. But I like everything about this series so it's not surprising.

this book isn't on my September tbr but I want to continue with the series so here we are.
