An odd book. It starts off well enough with the author on fishing boats headed to Iceland but then devolved into his attempt to demonstrate that all Scandinavians are melancholic, sad, reserved and dark people with little joy. The writer plops a play about Ibsen in the middle of the nonfictional book to what real purpose is unclear.
