Ughh. I'm bored, to the point I don't want to pick it up again. 7% of basically nothing but tears, anger and wallowing. 7% of a book that's wasted. Does each scene of wallowing add to the plot in an important way? Nope. Is there dialogue of interest? Nope. Thank goodness my version is electronic, I'd hate to be holding such a waste of paper. YAWN

Finally got to Provence. In fact, I admit that once we read Elisabeth's letter things began to improve slightly. I'm still reading it in hope rather than enjoyment at the moment.
