I'm not sure how I'm liking this yet. The different voices are interesting, but Saralinda's sounds perpetually rushed (also she sounds like Logan from 25th Annual Putnum County Spelling Bee and no one can convince me otherwise), while Caleb's is in second person present tense (and sounds like Batman).

Finally found the straw that broke the camel's back with book: you can buy insulin over the counter. Probably not the specific type Saralinda's uses, but stuff that would be sufficient to manage her blood sugar for a day or two, definitely. They should be having a hard time getting the syringes to use the insulin (which are by prescription in NY state and aren't sold to under 18s regardless).

The only characters I care about is Caleb and kind of sometimes Evangeline. At this point I'm only reading because the plot is semi-good and I want to know what's going to happen.
