I love the audiobooks for this series. Always come back to it every other year. I need to finish the series (after owning the last book for a long time), so here I am, plowing through the series once again to get to the end.

Elias' soul is worth more than even Helene is able to admit.

audiobook.... I love Elias. He's my favorite. so relatable and caring.

Alright. I can start to fangirl now... Elias and Laia dancing.... YES, THIS IS WHAT I WANTED. I wonder how Helene's ability will tie in with the rest of the book. I fear her character might be killed off at the end of the book, and something bad might happen to her before then as well. And what about Zak? is there betrayal coming on his part? AHHH! TIME TO FIND OUT.... next time!

Alright, so the first test was not what I thought it would be. Maybe it's weird that I want a relationship to happen between Elias and Laia, even though she's younger than him and Helene is a perfectly good choice? Maybe it's because I read too many YA books that ALWAYS have some form of romance in them. I need to calm down. This doesn't seem to be that type of book, and from now on I'm going to stop hoping for it.

I am hoping for a lot of action in the next part of the book. Part 1 is over, and part 2 is relatively long compared to both the first and third parts. I am guessing the test on Elias and the other three competitors will be gruesome, as they were all trained to be hunters and killers and raised without much love at the academy. If the trials are not at all difficult compared to what I hope, then I'll be disappointed.
