I found this among the Lambda Literary donations at LGBT BtP, and borrowed it. Because of it's provenance, I was expecting it to be a jewel and tafetta encrusted story of a prima donna seducing all of the ladies. I am beginning to suspect my hunch was absolutely incorrect.

Yeah, no, it's more literary historical fiction. It's really interesting, and I enjoyed how it became about her life being operatic (htough there were other aspects of it I liked less). I don't remember any queer content in it, now that I think about it, though the author is gay.
Ah! I'll shelve it in general fiction, then. :) I think I'll give it a try now that I've gotten my expectations out of the way.
Yeah, it's a good book, just not that. Though I hope someone's written a book about a prima donna seducing all the ladies because that would also be awesome!
