I'm a little in pain reading this book at this point. As in, physical and mental pain. It escalated from small-town problem to apocalyptic level awkwardly and without rhyme or reason. I've resorted to speed-reading because I feel like that awkward parent watching their kid fall in love for the first time. To the end we go!

I understand now what is meant by ‘lazy writing’. The author clearly enjoys writing just the juicy parts of the book where there is romance and attraction but ignores so much else in their story. I can practically feel her disinterest in her own plot and on the other hand, her drive to really see the two main characters fall in love with each other. She's writing a story about a Reaper! So many possibilities lost.

I'm finding the writing style to be a little schizophrenic. At some points the author seems to be mimicking Kristin Painter's style of writing. At others it's more like... any other hormone-driven YA romance writer. It's confusing and sometimes off-putting but the overall tone of the story is still on the sweet side.

Can't seem to concentrate on this story. There's just something about it that makes it so forgettable that I can put it down for a few days without noticing.

It has a promising start to the story. A dash of conflict here, a sprinkle of humor there... I rarely see stories written with a Reaper as the MC so this is something I'm looking forward to.
