Halfway through and there is something about this book that’s annoying me. We’ve got enough Chekov’s guns to fill an armory, and a light, happy-go-lucky plot that hints to get very dark (which it won’t, because the Dreamspun Beyond books don’t do dark). I’m also just not feeling a lot of empathy for these characters, and getting confused whose POV we’re seeing the story from sometimes.
