Tough Question - Mark was in the Spanish ladies office wanting to call his mom and dad to tell them where he was and to come get him, but before asking the man with the phone to call his parents, he asked himself a question. He asked himself, 'why does giving up sound good until you do it.' This makes me wonder about what is Mark going to do now since he will not call his parents. Where will he go?

Contrast and Contradictions - Mark was laying down with Beau telling him he didn't want to die. I don't really know why Mark isn't trying to stay alive by finding someone to take him to the hospital since he has known he was going to die. I think he just wants to end his life with him best friend right next to him.

Contrast and Contradictions: When Mark was buying candy bars with his, "last money," he decided he wanted to use the pay phone. So he put one candy bar back and got quarters. He went to the pay phone trying to remember the number. After he punched the numbers in the phone rang. Then he hung up right away. I didn't think he was going to do that. I think he did it because he remebered about not wanting to give up.

Words of the Wiser - Jessie was walking in a rainstorm, then a truck pulled up next to him. It was an older man and he told him to get into the Truck. At first, Jessie remembered all the things his parents and his teachers told him about not getting in the car. Then he said he would drive him anywhere. After a couple moments, Jessie remembered what his Granpa told him. A stranger is just a friend you have never met.

Tough Question - Mark had a watch in his pocket and asked himself, why would anybody want to carry something around that reminds you that your life is running out. This makes me wonder about how is Mark going to tell what time it is when he is going to be all alone in Seattle. Now Mark won't know what time it is right away and he will have to find the time somewhere else.
