Again little to nothing to do with Christmas in this book. Why even make this series be about Christmas?!
The most scandalous stuff in this book around Christmas isn’t even between the couple in this book.
Think the “Christmas” was all for marketing and sales.

How is it not scandalous that she went off on a ship by herself to America?
Are we past the age/time period of such scandals?

If he’s so in love with her why treat her so indifferent??? Try courting her. Fight for what you want! You’re the one who told her you’d never marry and broke her heart. Ugh

Her mom needs help. I know back then mental treatment wasn’t really a thing but she’s losing it and Maggie is paying for it.

Also Maggie might have known what was being traded but I still see what happened as closer to rape than consensual.

What happened to her mom??? She was normal in the last book and now she’s gone batshit.
