I don't see why this book is so highly acclaimed and regarded. It's more religiously themed than the Chronicles of Narnia, blatantly so, and hasn't really grabbed me. I'm almost done with it so I'm sure I'll at least finish it, but there isn't even the pretense of a thin veil in terms of its overt Christian theme.
