Just as I think this is fairly slow going, the book livens up. There is always a quaint charm about Paula Marinaro books. You can't help giggling at the thought of two women popping up from behind a bush, where they are supposed to be hiding, screaming blue murder. Them trying to explain it to Preacher was hilarious!
