Even with the main character obviously headed for defection, I'm amazed I've lasted this long sympathizing with a bunch of suicide bombers and psychopathic religious fanatics. Maybe it's because of the previous book, and that the author's taking the right side as opposed to "objectively" or "artistically" "examining" a bunch of shitty-ass murderers to "understand humanity."
