This book is sadly lacking passion, violence, and tension so far. Is the entire book about what’s-her-face being pregnant with a hybrid and how ‘important’ the hybrid will be in the far future if the fetus survives to term? Add in the continuous, clinical recitation of vamp history/ biology by Nick and this audiobook ‘reads’ like a textbook on vampires, a very dry, tediously detailed textbook.
