Tiffany > Status Update

My husband got me The Last Tudor, which I'm really excited about. I saw an ad for it months ago, and made it clear that I was excited that it was coming out. I love Philippa Gregory. I also got a book of Bukowski poems (I've gotten really into him) as well as a book with a saint-a-day. I have wanted a book like that ever since I read Catherine, Called Birdy for the first time.

Ooh, a saint-a-day book? That sounds interesting!

My highlights are Freedom Summer: The Savage Season of 1964 That Made Mississippi Burn and Made America a Democracy, about the Civil Rights movement in the U.S. in 1964; The Dancer: Degas, Forain, Toulouse-Lautrec; and Seattle's 1962 World's Fair. Plus, my mom finished reading Homeland, which I was going to borrow when she was done, so it's like a bonus present! I love John Jakes' "Kent Family Chronicles" series, so I'm looking forward to reading this, knowing full well I'll probably get sucked in to this series, as well.
