When sickness or destruction of the innocent masquerades as an act of God, it maligns and blasphemes His name. The Church has often believed that the presence of sickness is the presence of God. We have been taught that God has a purpose in giving us sickness. This is not found in Scripture. Sickness does not reveal God. Sickness maligns the name of God who is Jehovah Rapha, the Lord who heals.
