Round The Bend was a slightly difficult chapter. It took me 4 nights to get through. All Ulysses-esque weirdness about James Joyce's daughter at an asylum. Words all have double meanings and puns, sometimes flowed together but other times were just gibberish. Still enjoyable.

I like reading thick experimental novels because of the frustrating nature when authors like Danielewski and Moore really. grab you by the eyelids and say"are you with me?!" In this case, I'm in the Ulysses part of the book describing I believe Joyce' daughter living her days in an asylum. Lots of biblical puns. Reference to Paradise Lost in there.

"When this secret television station of the near dead is off air it cannot be detected, except as a high-pitched and near ultrasonic whistling tone experienced in the inner ear. if you just listen carefully, you'll find that you can hear it now."
This book is exactly why I love reading.

Wordy, but perfectly coherent and easy to follow. It's kind of a cool view of the afterlife/nature of reality puzzle. The Dead Dead Gang is a hilarious bunch. Gotta love demons of the Goetia showing up.

One thing I can say for this book is it sure can hit with a case of giggles that sneak up on you. Young Alma's green cows dialogue was cracking me up. Not many books can do that.
