I have a crush on Telemakos, Ulysses's son. Who would have thought it would be possible to fan girl over a character over 2500 years old? I wish I was Pallas Athena leaving with him to sea...:-)

Mel Bossa This is my uni. :-) Homer opened Antiquity's doors for me, as I'd never been anywhere in school, and I've been reading Greek tragedy and history since then. I am obsessed with the Iliad, and love it so much more than the Odyssey, as I don't particularly like Ulysses and I still can't figure out why. Maybe I never liked the favored ones. I prefer Achilles and his golden pride, but then we only get to see his shadow and hear him ask about his dad when Ulysses is down in Hades in this one! It's amazing to think that things that are just barely mentioned or described, such as the sirens, have populated hundreds, if not thousands of future tales. Homer is the freakin well of the human imagination. Sorry about the long comment. I never could do short replies:-)
