Anatole > Status Update

I'm listening to the audiobook for Denis Johnson's last short story collection right now, The Largesse of the Sea Maiden. The first story is set in San Diego and Denis Johnson talks about outlying cities like National City and roads and bridges like I8 and The Pine Creek Valley Bridge.

It's really strange reading about my hometown in such intimate detail in the final work of one of my favorite writers.
