Kindle didn't tell me this one was 515 pages! I'm enjoying the work Briggs does with language in places, though as a cohesive narrative, there is much left to be desired here. It's hard to really gauge or understand any of these characters, and the nonlinear storyline is working against the plot, rather than with it. Still, the writing is pretty damn good, and I'm compelled to keep reading,
