After the prologue, it appears Rand will have even more to deal with (the Seanchan, the Forsaken, attempting to unite all lands under his banner, worrying about how to handle the Aes Sedai both rebel and White Tower). Now it appears the northern countries are going to attempt to ally together to prevent his ruling them. How much more can he have on his plate!? As most everyone has stated, the series slows down a bit, this book included. However, just because it slows down does not mean it is not good. A lot is still going on and many different plots are continuing to take shape. One thing I did not like was the absence of Mat. At the end of ACoS we were left a cliffhanger with Mat and throughout all of APoD we hear nothing of what happened to him. Time for Winter's Heart
