Chapter Nine. I just finished the Sydney half of this book, and let me tell you, i'm quite torn about how Lucy is behaving. So okay, we were made to think that maybe, just maybe, James was indeed cheating on her, and that he was painted in a less-than-admirable light because of his penchant for "white lies". Given that, we already have an idea their relationship is headed for a break-up.

Chapter Twenty-Six. I think I already know where things are going, and I for one is disappointed. Maybe in part with who Lucy ends up choosing, and also for the poor characterization for both male characters, but mostly in the manner of how Lucy dealt with the situation, everything.

Chapter Twenty-Five. And it's not fair Lucy is still holding James' supposed infidelity against him. She's using that to justify her crappy behavior as a girlfriend to James and she's holding on to that to validate that whatever she's been feeling for Nathan all this time was a result of whatever she thought James was doing behind her back.

Chapter Twenty-Four. Maybe it's because I already hate how bad the story has gotten that I think it's just plain lazy to inject an event that would finally push Lucy to pick Nathan. And even then, Lucy is still being her usual duplicitous self.

Chapter Twenty-Three. Of course, the pros/cons list. On James' cons list, Lucy has "don’t trust him. Never have." You know why, Lucy? You can't trust James because in a way, he can't trust you too. You think he's cheating on you because it's what you have been doing to him too.

Chapter Twenty-Three. On paper, Lucy and James look good together and somehow get on well together. The Nathan angle, though in theory was good plot device, is just poorly executed and written. And now James is being written off as undesirable, with hints here and there of how he doesn't get Lucy (and Nathan does). With all these too late in the book, whatever ending this story is headed, it will all seem rushed.

Chapter Twenty-Two. Actually, I'm quite surprised that the guys stuck around for this long while Lucy is stringing them along. Unproven infidelity aside, James seems like a saint for still putting up with Lucy even after he learned she fancied Nathan. And Nathan, shouldn't their love triangle situation serve as a warning for what it will be like with flaky, flirty, fickle Lucy?

Chapter Twenty-Two. Just a quarter of the book to go and I still can't see what Lucy sees in Nathan and how she thinks she has feelings for him. All they have going between them are jokes and the secret phone call and texts they exchanged. As far as I see it, this book should end with Lucy and James reconciling and becoming a better couple or Lucy embracing the single life.

Chapter Twenty-One. And here's the funny (not!) part, when she finally has "semi-proof" that James was maybe indeed cheating on her, she gets mad as hell and doesn't even realize how stupid it is. I'm not siding with James on this one, as it does still seem shady at the moment, but Lucy going off on him the same way he did days before is just laughably hypocritical.

Chapter Twenty-One. Whatever Lucy feels, it's beyond fickle now. "Well done, Lucy, you’ve probably lost your boyfriend of almost four years and now you’ve scared off Nathan as well. I don’t want to lose James, though. Not yet. I don’t know about ‘not ever’, but definitely ‘not yet’." Like I said earlier, she can't live without a man. Ugh!
