i am crying at random lines..my sister keeps telling me the story hasn't started yet...it's funny how differently books get to individual persons...i am just grieved by the dreadful sadness of leaving motherland.. i don't know where it's coming from...

honey you don;t need my thought to read this one..trust me..! my sister's been pushing me mad to read this book, because it's -quoting- "thousand times better" than the Kite Runner...i was postponing and looking for the right time to read it, which is now, i think, as some of my last reading experiences had been quite disappointing. It's my read-in-bed book now...it's been great so far... >.<
Yes! I hear you. It's been recommended by MANY people (but so has Kite Runner...and I haven't read that yet either...but I have a different excuse for that. I really dislike reading a book after seeing the movie (and I ended up watching Kite Runner before knowing it was a book:( Oh well! Glad you're enjoying it:)
ohhh then i can definitely recommend it to you as a must-read... same case here, i had watched the movie before i had the book in hand ( and it was a gift from a dear friend,i love how books give me flashbacks of memories of people, bless them)..and the movie was a below-average version of the book..the book's detailed, works up a great pace and full of surprising events when you least expect it...you'll fall in love with the words...i'm telling you you won't waste time...give it a chance for a change...i know you'll love it... :)
I'll give it a go, when I have some time! It's not that I think they won't be as good as the movie...but you have that mental picture already...and it drives me nutty! :) But, I'm actually pleased when they go a different direction! I did read Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of Nihm Literature Novel Unit Study after watching...and have to admit...I actually dislike the film now! Book totally ruined it, because it was SOOO much better! (and my husband is trying to get me to read The Last of the Mohicans because he knows I'll like it better than the movie! So...I'll put it on my TBR...(the Kite Runner, that is...) already committed to this one:)
