picked up around halfway through, probably about the time Mycroft's true crimes are revealed.

I'm reminded me of Ender's Game, where (unrealistically) two brilliant children take over the internet to begin a world movement--because Plot.

The world is a lively character, but I'm struggling with the neo-feudalism aspect; this story is at the same time claustrophobic and global--a palace intrigue touching on all the movers and shakers of the 25th century, as if they're a dysfunctional family.

I like how it plays with gendering, and the vision of the future, but it's a slog.
