God here God there. Have I still been the high school kid when I read Life of Pi, I would be completely washed away by the sense of a benevolent Higher Being. But damn, didn’t Elif Shafak write well. Her proses and character construction were top-notch.

Just to jot down some notes so I can find it later on. The copy I have is made of good enough paper and doesn’t play well with ink. A few pages back, the author use inconsistent grammatical tense in which The Master retold the story in January 1243 in the present tense but then referred the later event in the past tense. Am I the one who misunderstood here?
