The bulk of my scant knowledge on this subject comes from gen ed courses I took a decade ago (neuropsychology, evolution & ecology, etc.) and what I was able to pick up from the science blogs I used to subscribe to on Google Reader way back when. So I'm hoping this book is written with the general public in mind. The preface shows promise on that front, but who knows? This could be a drag. See you on the other side.

The opening devoted to the authors' shared critical stance towards capital-S Science as industry and gatekeeper of a capital-T Truth were a bit brusque. Not wrong, certainly relevant, but requiring of greater elaboration than an opening chapter. That being said, the meat of the book is well-written and engaging. I'm particularly enjoying these chapters on the history of IQ tests. So far, I'm glad I grabbed this book.
