This is quite possibly the best article in the book. As the topic is discussed and you dig deeper to find out why (if it’s true) “have non-malays always shunned the security forces?”.

Such a serious allegation isn’t it? “Currently non-Malays only make up 5% of the armed forces”. 5% is alarming!

The government should tackle this issue. This is a racial issue and it is affecting our nation quite directly. On top of that, this is a matter of security for the country.

Failure to foster unity among all races and encourage participation in armed forces (and civil services) from ALL races, is a failure for the government.

You cannot limit other races’ entitlement to some benefits and then expect them to also give all their might for the nation. Blatantly speaking, the nation isn’t giving equal opportunities to all races so why should then all races be expected to give same amount of cooperation to fight for the nation?

The article then compared the numbers of Malays/non-Malays in armed forces pre- and post-1969. Hmmmm

“The DPM added that taking care of the nation’s safety was a collective responsibility and not to be “shouldered by one particular race”.”

You did NOT just say that.

“Our leaders kept telling us to aim to be a high-income nation but they do not seem to realise that in becoming a high-income nation, making fun of national leaders is part of that package - evident in all other such developed nations.”

HEAR HEAR! Take it with a pinch of salt, why don’t ya? 🤣
